Fabio Quartararo's 2022 MotoGP world championship lead has been reduced to just four points over Aleix Espargaro, after a fourth-place for the Frenchman in his home race was combined with Espargaro's third podium in a row and fourth of the season.

Race winner Enea Bastianini is now back to within just 8 points of Quartararo, but a clear gap has now developed to fourth place Alex Rins, who crashed out of Sunday's race.
