Popular Australian Christian Henry is Newcastle's first signing for the 2007 season fresh from picking up the Rider of the Year award as voted for by the fans at the End of Season Dinner Dance last weekend.

The Boston Barracuda-Braves Team Manager, Malcolm Vasey, has labelled the 'Lincs FM' Scorpions one of the Conference League's 'super teams' ahead of their Lincolnshire Cup clash on Monday night.

The 'Lincs FM' Scorpions face the Rye House Raiders in the second leg of the Playoff Semi-final this afternoon at the Scunthorpe Raceway. The racing starts at 3pm with the Scorpions holding a 14-point lead from Saturday's first leg in Hertfordshire.

Berwick's final meeting of the season went right to the wire, on 2 counts, firstly the meeting wasn't declared until after the final race was run, which finished right on the stroke of the curfew time of 9.30pm.

Large crowd see Matt say Farewell.
A large crowd turned out at Somerset's Oak Tree Arena last night, to bid farewell to one of Speedway's favourite sons, Matt Read, or "Readie" as he is known to his huge army of fans.
Cheetahs go down at Coventry.
A fine performance by Oxford reserve Eric Andersson was not enough to save the Cheetahs from defeat at Coventry last Friday night in their penultimate away league match of the season.

Reading Bulldogs went down to a narrow 47-43 defeat at Poole on Wednesday evening, but they didn't leave Wimborne Road empty-handed, as the four-point reverse was enough for them to pick up the all-important aggregate bonus point.

BSI has agreed a contract with CANAL+ Cyfrowy, the owner of Pay TV CANAL+ Poland, to extend their exclusive live television rights contract for both the FIM Speedway Grand Prix (SGP) Series and the FIM Speedway World Cup (SWC) until 2011.

All indicators are pointing upwards towards a record breaking 31st Annual World Championship I.C.E. Racing Series. The added interest the new Manufacturers World Cup Bikes have brought to the series has allowed I.C.E. to increase their prize money by over 30% above last season.

Australian Jason Crump has won the 2006 FIM Individual Speedway World Championship having taken an unassailable 71-point lead in the series after the Prague round on the weekend.

Despite the loss of Dave Norris and Dean Barker from his meeting due to rearranged commitments with Eastbourne, Matt is delighted to announced that one of the sport's all time top names, Sean Wilson, has agreed to ride at his Farewell Meeting on September 22nd.

Latest injury updates on Jamie Smith & Paul Fry as follows: Smith, who was broke his leg in a collision with the tractor grading the track at King's Lynn on March 29th has been back to hospital and had the second of four operations he is due to have on the leg.

Berwick's star man, Stanislaw Burza had a blistering night's racing at Edinburgh's Armadale Stadium on Friday night when he competed in the prestigious Keyline Scottish Open, an event he had already pin pointed as a trophy he desperately wanted to win one week earlier.
