I, Superbiker 2 set for nationwide release

The story of last year's exhilarating MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship will be told in a thrilling new documentary, with I, Superbiker 2 - The Showdown due to hit cinemas nationwide in February.

Directed by Mark Sloper, the film boasts a soundtrack score by the Damned's David Vanian plus a theme tune written by Phil Collen of Def Leppard.

The 2011 BSB championship produced one of the most dramatic finales in its history as the title battle went down to the wire in explosive fashion.

Six riders made it through to the decisive Showdown stage and the action was fast and furious, with reigning champion Ryuichi Kiyonari under extreme pressure to hold on to his crown after struggling to recapture his top form.

British star Tommy Hill on the Swan Yamaha and American ace John Hopkins on the Crescent Suzuki emerged as the top two contenders, but fans' favourite Shane 'Shakey' Byrne plus Hill's team-mate, Michael Laverty and Aussie Josh Brookes were all determined to have their say.

What unfolded kept fans on the edge of their seats and the final race of the season will go down in BSB history as one of the championship's most incredible races.

I, Superbiker 2 - The Showdown, relives every white-knuckle moment and is a must-see for any motorcycle fan.
