BSS: Jake Dixon steps up with CF Motorsport

Former double World Sidecar champion Darren Dixon's son Jake will compete in the British Supersport Championship next year for the CF Motorsport team.

The teenager made his debut this year in the National Superstock 600 class and won the first race before adding another two victories during the season as he sealed fourth position overall.

The 16-year-old said he was delighted to remain in former British Supercup Cup champion Craig Fitzpatrick's team next season.

"I am really pleased to have signed this deal with CF Motorsport," he said.

"I built up a good relationship with Craig last season and I am looking forward to working with him again in 2013.

"Stepping up to the British Supersport Championship is going to be a challenge but one which I am excited about," added Dixon.

"I am confident that the package will be competitive and hopefully we will be up there challenging at the front."

Team boss Fitzpatrick added: "Since I stopped racing I have been keen to try and support talented young riders.

"CF Motorsport started out last season and had fantastic success with both MotoBreakers and Glenn Irwin.

"I am now keen that we manage our own team and continue to develop on that," he added

"We all feel that Jake is ready to step up to the Supersport Championship and hopefully our experience in the class will help him to compete at the front once more."
