The British Superbike Championship makes its second trip of the 2002 season to Oulton Park this weekend (30 August - 1 September).

Hawk Kawasaki riders Glen Richards and Mark Burr expect the two races to yield even greater rewards that the last time they visited the challenging Cheshire circuit for round four of the championship back in May.

Glen Richards season-long run of form aboard the 750cc Hawk Kawasaki ZX-7RR has so far earned him ninth place in the championship standings. However, the talented Australian is not content to rest on his laurels and is hoping to net his first podium finish of the season at Oulton.

"Cadwell was a little disappointing because I honestly thought that I could've made it onto the rostrum," says Richards. "But I've just got to put it behind me and transfer my hopes to Oulton Park. The Hawk Kawasaki now handles so much better than it did the last time we raced at the circuit and I did pretty good even then. I'm desperate to get on the rostrum before the end of the season and Oulton is the kind of flowing circuit where I could well be in with a chance."

Mark Burr's ninth-place finish in race two at Cadwell Park demonstrated the increased level of confidence with which he is riding at the moment. After an unsteady start to the season, the 21-year-old Darlington-based rider has consistently improved and his aim is now to collect as many top ten finishes as possible during the final three rounds of the year.

"It took me quite a while to get the Hawk Kawasaki set up how I wanted it," he says. "Now that I have the bike performing properly, I know that I just have to ride it as hard as I can to score as many points as possible. I've been mixing it with some good riders recently and I know that I have what it takes to beat them. I only have six races to prove this and I'll be starting immediately with race one at Oulton Park."
