Massa vows to 'talk' to Alonso about Silverstone contact

An unhappy Felipe Massa has blasted that 'you really must not touch your team-mate's car' and revealed that he will 'talk' to Fernando Alonso in the wake of the Ferrari duo's opening lap contact at Silverstone that left the Brazilian with a punctured tyre...

Felipe Massa has revealed that he plans to 'talk' to his Ferrari team-mate Fernando Alonso about the opening lap touch between the pair in last weekend's British Grand Prix at Silverstone that left the Brazilian with a punctured tyre and dashed his chances of points on the spot.

Having qualified respectively third (Alonso) and seventh (Massa), a tardy getaway from the Spaniard when the starting lights went out saw the two drivers make contact with one another later around the first lap, with the resultant puncture and front wing damage for the Paulista leaving him having to return slowly to the pits for a new set of boots - and facing a long afternoon of fighting back, ultimately without reward.

The incident was not the first controversy between them this season, after Alonso was roundly vilified by the world's media for having aggressively and ruthlessly elbowed Massa out of the way and onto the grass on the entry to the Shanghai pit-lane during April's Chinese Grand Prix in order to ensure that his car was serviced first.

Whilst that coming-together was brushed underneath the carpet by all concerned with the party line being that there were no hard feelings, it seems Massa may not be quite so willing to meekly forgive and forget second time around.

"I'll talk to Alonso to find out why he touched my car," the 2008 F1 World Championship runner-up told Portuguese-language website aeiou.pt. "You really must not touch your team-mate's car."
