Canamasas tests Caterham in France

Sergio Canamasas has completed an aerodynamic test as part of the development programme of the Caterham F1 Team at the Lurcy Levis Circuit in central France.

The Spaniard drove a clean test until rain forced the afternoon to a close. Canamasas managed to complete the tests required by the team engineers without making any mistake during the several runs that were carried out.

Canamasas says he was pleased with the test, and spoke of the differences between the F1 chassis and his more familiar GP2 car: "It was the moment I have been waiting for since I started my career in karting so I'm very happy," he said.

"My next target is to do a complete test to experience the power of one of these cars to the full.

"The main differences I found from GP2 were the incredible acceleration and braking capabilities which are far ahead of everything I have driven so far. Now it's time to focus on the GP2 races at the British Grand Prix, due in a week's time."

?ngel Baena, Caterham Race Support Engineer, thinks Canamasas drove well and was valuable to the team's development going forward: "Sergio acquitted himself well in his first time in an F1 car at today,"

"We had to limit his running due to the weather, but in the runs he completed he achieved the targets he was set and that's helping us develop the car for the next race and the rest of the season."
