Ferrari has announced a new sponsorship deal with Haas Automotive ahead of its entry in to F1 in 2016.

Haas will enter its own team, but has taken its first step in to the sport by sponsoring Ferrari until the end of 2015. The deal will see the Haas logo feature on the sidepods of the two Ferraris - starting with the British Grand Prix at Silverstone this weekend - and team principal Marco Mattiacci said it would help strengthen the Ferrari brand in America.

"We are pleased to welcome Haas Automation as our latest Official Supplier" Mattiacci said. "This agreement strengthens our existing links in the USA, an important market not only for our company, but also for Scuderia Ferrari, as it is one where the team already benefits from several important partnerships.

"Over the past few months, we have been exploring a number of potential areas of collaboration and this agreement is the first step. It will enable Haas Automation to reinforce its already strong brand awareness around the world, thanks to the global reach of Formula 1. We are therefore delighted to make this announcement, which sees another premium brand join our portfolio of partners."

Mattiacci also confirmed that Ferrari was continuing to explore potential partnerships to supply Haas with powertrains when it enters its own team.

"In parallel, but as a separate project, Haas is committed to entering Formula 1 with its own team, a testimony to the growing appeal of our sport in the USA and on this front, technical discussions are ongoing between us."
