Button reveals F1 helmet design from public vote

Jenson Button reveals the results of his fan vote for his 2016 F1 helmet design and reverts back to his 2013 colours.

Jenson Button has confirmed he will revert back to his original helmet colours and design for the 2016 F1 world championship after offering the choices of design to a public vote.

The McLaren-Honda driver opted for a fresh red and white design last year but will now revert back to the colours he used in 2013 after Button's fans voted for the former design with a 71% majority.

Two years ago the 2009 F1 champion wore a striking pink helmet as a tribute to his late father. F1 sporting rules state drivers cannot change helmet designs or have special one-off helmets during a season, meaning the design will stick with Button for the whole campaign.

Here we are ladies and gentlemen, my new old helmet livery for 2016! #JB22 Hope you like it because you chose it!
