Ferrari reveals striking SF16-H for F1 2016

Scuderia Ferrari has unveiled the its challenger for the 2016 Formula 1 season, the striking-looking SF16-H, the car it hopes will see it fighting its first F1 world title since 2007.

Revealed in an online presentation, the SF16-H has been charged with taking the title fight to Mercedes this year, with Ferrari presenting a visibly different machine in an effort to challenge its key rivals.

Indeed, having returned to winning ways in 2015, courtesy of its new signing Sebastian Vettel, Ferrari is setting its sights high for the 2016 season, with team manager Maurizio Arrivabene saying has to aim for a more title tilt.

A revised front-end, with a shorter nose design similar to that of Williams, and a tapered rear-end are amongst the changes from a technical perspective, with James Allison saying he is confident the car will prove quick when it hits the track in Spain next week, the aim being to give the car greater stability over aero-efficiency.

Indeed, though team manager Maurizio Arrivabene says he has utmost respect for his rivals, he believes the historic passion and commitment from the Ferrari team will prove a big asset for its 2016 campaign.

"We are a team and we all have the same goals. We go to the races respecting our competitors and recognising their value, especially the guy that won the championship last year, but we are committed to doing better and better. We don't go to the races with a big statement but for sure we go there with a big commitment. Humility is our drive, passion and commitment."

As predicted, the SF16-H will also feature a more 'retro' livery, with a predominantly white airbox and engine cover, as well as greater use of the Italian white, red and green 'tricolore'.
