Villeneuve Disqualified

In a shock announcement, Jacques Villeneuve was disqualified from the Japanese Grand Prix after ignoring a waved Yellow flag bought out after Jos Verstappen's Tyrrell stopped on track during Saturday's qualifying session.
Villeneuve was on a suspended ban for the same infringement in Monza earlier in the season and the Stewards took a dim view of his behaviour. The team have appealed against the decision and as a result Villeneuve will start the race from the pole position he claimed. However, any points he scores could be taken from him at the appeal.
