Goodyear Deny U-turn Rumours.
Tyre company Goodyear insists that it will still pull out of Formula One at the end of the current season, despite Ferrari claiming to have signed a supply deal for 1999.
The rumours of a U-turn by the American company originated when Ferrari designer Rory Byrne announced that the team was close to signing a deal to continue using Goodyear tyres next year. This story has since been denied by Jean Todt, head of the Italian team, however.

Goodyear racing personnel have always maintained that any U-turn would be brought about by pressure from the teams, but that it would take a lot to prevent the company's board of directors >from continuing with the decision.
