Tyrrell Test Lemarie.

Tyrrell used its last ever test session to give Frenchman Patrick Lemarie a run in an F1 car.

Lemarie, a childhood friend of reigning world champion Jacques Villeneuve, drove the current short wheelbase Tyrrell 026 at Silverstone, and impressed by recording a best lap just 1.2 seconds behind that of team regular Tora Takagi.

The test has increased speculation that Lemarie may test with British American Racing next season. Villeneuve has already signed to lead the team - which will take over from Tyrrell - in its inaugural campaign.
