Benetton Tester Gets Champcar Invite.
Sometime Benetton test driver Laurent Redon was due to make his Champcar debut today [Friday], following an invitation from team boss John Della Penna.
The Frenchman, who has also tested for Minardi in the past, was scheduled to join former British FRenault Sport runner Hoover Orsi in running for the midfield team this week. Both were expected to shakedown the Reynard-Toyota combination used by Della Penna regular Richie Hearn in 1999 at Sebring.

Redon's future in F1 is uncertain, having been a test driver since quitting the F3000 scene, and it is conceivable that he may chase a seat Stateside for the new year.
