BAR speculation renewed.

Speculation that British American Racing is set to be taken over by senior members of the team was renewed yesterday.

Reports in the Daily Telegraph state that the buy out is being led by Adrian Reynard, BAR co-managing director. They are believed to be putting together a bid for ?120 million and that they have enlisted the help of financial boutique, Cambridge Capital Partners to do so.

DLJ Private Equity, a venture capital unit of investment bank Donaldson, Lifkin and Jenrette, had been in talks to back the bid but pulled out a month ago, probably due to the impending take over by another investment bank, Credit Suisse First Boston.

BAR have not responded to the latest rumours.
