Irvine sad to see Burti go.

Eddie Irvine has said that he is sorry his former teammate, Luciano Burti has left Jaguar and that while it is not usually a good idea to change drivers mid-season Pedro de la Rosa should do a good job.

Last week it was announced that Burti would be leaving Jaguar to replace Gaston Massacane at Prost and that test driver de la Rosa would take over his seat.

Irvine said: "I was sorry to see Luciano go, as he brought a lot to the team. But I can understand his reasons for going."

The four times GP winner added: "Usually, changing team-mates in the middle of the season is not a good idea and can destabilise things, but in our case, Pedro has been with us for a while already and understands the task at hand so everything should go smoothly on that front."
