Minardi to run Arrows A23 at Mugello.

Minardi will test last year's Arrows car, the A23, next week, when they put it head-to-head with their own car, the PS03.

Minardi acquired the A23's in June - buying five chassis off the receivers who were charged with selling off the assets of the outfit formerly ran by Tom Walkinshaw.

Minardi acquired the A23's in June - buying five chassis off the receivers who were charged with selling off the assets of the outfit formerly ran by Tom Walkinshaw.

Paul Stoddart, Minardi's team boss, told Reuters: "We'll be doing the test at Mugello, we will let Jos Verstappen drive both cars.

"I need some accurate driver reports on certain parts of the Arrows to see whether we are going to incorporate it in next year's car."

The test, which was due to have been completed prior to the summer test ban, was delayed as the team had to run Nicolas Kiesa, Justin Wilson's replacement, in order for him to get a super-licence. Wilson left Minardi, after securing a drive with Jaguar.

"The test should have happened already," explained Stoddart, "we were ready to go but, when we did the driver swap with Nicolas, I had to use the one and only test I could get away with for his super-licence."

The A23 scored two world championship points last year and was designed by Mike Coughlan, who has since moved to McLaren-Mercedes.
