Jordan: Silverstone test productive.

Jordan's inexperienced duo of Timo Glock and Giorgio Pantano concluded its first proper test since the Formula One season began in Melbourne last month by racking up the 2000th kilometre of running at Silverstone this week.

With Glock taking over from fellow countryman Nick Heidfeld for the third and final day of the test, the team completed its preparation for the start of the European leg of the world championship, which gets underway at Imola next weekend. All three drivers worked on chassis and tyre programmes.

"The warm and dry weather, quite unusual for Silverstone at this time of year, and reliability of the Jordan Ford EJ14 have allowed us to complete a significant testing distance during the three days," engineering director James Robinson told the team's official website, "We made good progress with Bridgestone's tyre programme and they have done some very good work with us on that front, so we are fairly optimistic going forward to the next two races."

Heidfeld and Pantano added 182 laps to the 155 they had completed on day one as the warm and dry conditions continued at the home of the British GP, with the Italian rookie all but matching his senior colleague's best lap time, running just a tenth off Heidfeld's 1min 22.04secs effort.

"Giorgio is getting more confidence, he knows this track and he's progressing well," Robinson continued.
