Ide eyes finish line.

Super Aguri's Yuji Ide will be keen to see the chequered flag in Australia next weekend, so that he can notch up his first ever F1 finish.

Ide has had a tough start to the new season and mechanical issues in Bahrain and Malaysia, mean he has yet to get a grand prix distance under his belt. Indeed he did only 35 of the 57 laps at the BIC and only 33 of the 56 at Sepang last Sunday. It is no surprise then that that his aim now is to get the #23 car 'home'.

"I am looking forward to the grand prix in Melbourne and to hopefully finishing a Formula One race for the first time," he stated.

"It has been very disappointing for me to not finish the past two races, especially since all the mechanics are working so hard. I know that there has been a mechanical problem on my car, but I feel very frustrated. I really hope that I will be able to finish the next race in Australia."

As for Australia itself Ide has been to the country several times before due to its proximity to Japan, his home country, where he competed in the Formula Nippon series in 2003, 2004 and 2005 - last year finishing runner-up, having scored two wins with Team Impul.

"I have visited Australia many times and I always liked it," he added. "There's only one hour time difference from Japan and the weather is great."
