Ide tells Albers: I'm sorry for Imola incident.

Super Aguri number two driver, Yuji Ide has apologised to Christijan Albers after their coming together at the start of the San Marino Grand Prix two weeks ago.

The Japanese driver is under pressure to get a result this weekend amid speculation that he will be replaced if he doesn't up his game - and up it soon. The former Formula Nippon champion though hasn't had much mileage in the SA05 and there is no doubt this is holding him back.

Despite though he has been busy doing all he can to prepare for his first outing at the 'ring and is hopeful he can get the car to the chequered flag, to notch up what would be his second finish this season, after he also brought the car home in Australia.

"Firstly, I would like to apologise again to Christian for what happened in Imola and I very much hope that he is ok," he said. "I am new to Formula One and have had very little running in the car, so I have been trying to drive safely and to improve with every race. For the European Grand Prix I have been studying the N?rburgring circuit very closely by watching videos of the past races and learning the race lines. I am looking forward to the race and hopefully will be able to show some improvements."
