Dennis: Today is not about lap records.
McLaren Mercedes team boss Ron Dennis has admitted that today's debut of the new MP4-18, will be about system checks, not going for quick times.

The West McLaren Mercedes teams new 'revolutionary' Formula One car, the MP4-18, made its track debut today [Wednesday] at Paul Ricard in the South of France, and 'third' driver, Alexander Wurz, immediately gave it the thumbs up.

Lauda: Ferrari pit crew was sensational.
Three times F1 World Champion, Niki Lauda, who was himself of course severely burnt in a racing accident in 1976, has applauded the professionalism and restraint shown by Ferraris pit-crew following the fire that threatened to end Michael Schumacher's race during the Austrian GP.
'Old' McLaren to race in Monaco.
Ron Dennis confirmed in Austria that the McLaren Mercedes squad would continue to race the uprated MP4-17D in the next round of the world championship, in Monaco, because he feels the introduction of the latest MP4-18 would not make much difference to the team's performance.

Fiorano test - day one: 20 May.
Ferrari test driver Felipe Massa was back in action today [Tuesday] at Fiorano, carrying out tyre and aerodynamic testing at the wheel of the F2003-GA. The Brazilian driver covered a total of 25 laps - around 140 kilometres.

Paul Ricard test - day one: 20 May.
BMW WilliamsF1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya was quickest today [Tuesday], at the Paul Ricard circuit in the South of France. JPM completed 89 laps in the FW25, his best a 1 minute 12.089 seconds, over five tenths up on his team-mate, test driver, Marc Gene.

The West McLaren Mercedes teams new Formula One car - the MP4-18, will make its testing debut tomorrow [Wednesday] at the Paul Ricard circuit, in the South of France.
