FIA Formula 2 has retired the usage of #19 in honour of Anthoine Hubert following his death last August.

Renault Formula 1 youngster Hubert was killed in a multi-car crash in the opening stages of the Feature Race at Spa-Francorchamps. He was 22 years old.

Hubert's team, BWT Arden, fielded just one car for the following round at Monza, and switched to use #22 when it returned to a two-car entry with Artem Markelov partnering the incumbent Tatiana Calderon, with #19 being retired for the remainder of the season.

In the updated edition of the entry list for the 2020 F2 season, it was confirmed that Hubert's #19 will no longer be used.

Owing to its position in last year's teams' championship, Prema Racing was due to take over Arden's #18 and #19, but will instead skip over the numbers completely to use #20 and #21 instead with Mick Schumacher and Robert Shwartzman.

HWA Racelab, the team replacing Arden, will take over #16 and #17, while #13 will not be used as is tradition.

As teams' champion, DAMS will take over #1 and #2, to be used by Sean Gelael and Dan Ticktum respectively through the 2020 season.

The new F2 season begins in Bahrain on March 21.
