"This is a great opportunity for me to forward my career in the sport," the new Team Rhino?s Liepert driver said. "I had been informed of my acceptance earlier but was asked not to divulge the result until the announcement at the 3pm press conference in Essen on Saturday.

"It was very difficult not to show my joy at winning the prize and the seat. It is everything I wanted for 2008 and onwards. The conference was a great event and I also met my two team-mates who are older and more experienced than I am. People may look at German F3 as a two year deal but I am going for the Championship from the first race.

"I am looking forward to pre season testing which is scheduled for around 15 days in Italy or Spain, then getting into the fitness programme in Munich."
