Safety car an hour from end as Goh crashes

The safety car has been deployed once again barely an hour from the end of the 2009 Le Mans 24 Hours, with a sizeable accident for the #5 LMP2 Navi Team Goh Porsche RS Spyder on the Mulsanne Straight.

Lying second in class and twelfth outright, with Seiji Ara at the wheel the car came to grief at the chicane, as the Japanese ace - a former overall winner at La Sarthe with Tom Kristensen and Dindo Capello at Audi Team Goh in 2004 - lost control under braking and swiped the wall before demolishing the tyre barriers...and the Porsche itself.

Though shaken, Ara appears to be otherwise thankfully unhurt, but for him and team-mates Sascha Maassen and Keisuke Kunimoto, the bid for class glory is over.
