CRS confirms second Ferrari

Official: Second Ferrari for CRS Racing in 2010 Le Mans Series - subject to acceptance of entry.

After announcing recently that Andrew Kirkaldy and Tim Mullen would contest the 2010 Le Mans Series in a CRS Racing Ferrari 430, the team has revealed that they will have company in the shape of a second Ferrari 430 LMS entry.

Pierre Ehret and Phil Quaife will join Kirkaldy and Mullen in the CRS garage for the five Le Mans Series races, starting with the 8-hour race at Paul Ricard in April. A third driver for the Ehret/Quaife car will also be announced soon.

"We're really pleased to be able to enter a two-car team into the full Le Mans Series," said CRS team director, Andrew Kirkaldy. "I'm very happy with the line-up. Pierre is one of the quickest non-professional drivers out there.

"Phil did a fantastic job for us last year and really came on strong when things got tough. We have another driver to announce soon for that car. I think it will be a real advantage to have a three-driver line-up when it comes to the longer races. It'll certainly keep Tim and I on our toes."

"I'm absolutely delighted," Quaife added. "The target for last season was to do GT2 but it just wasn't possible due to the required budget. But racing in GT3 with CRS Racing, I found them to be a very professional team and we developed a great partnership. It's fantastic to be able to stay with them this year and to be given the opportunity to move up to the GT2 class on a permanent basis.

"It's definitely a big step up and a different type of racing. The LMS is pure endurance racing and that means you have to look after the car as well as showing strong speed. Then there's the added factor of the faster prototype cars constantly being in your mirrors, which will be a completely new experience for me.

"However I have done a lot of endurance racing. I've raced at Dubai for the past four years, made my Spa 24 Hours debut last season and done plenty of other long distance races. While they may not be at the same level as the LMS, that experience should stand me in good stead for 2010. My plan is to do the best possible job for the team."
