The newly-formed Beechdean Mansell Motorsport team has unveiled the colours it will use during the 2010 Le Mans Series, with the emphasis firmly on promoting its British roots.

Set to make its public debut at the upcoming Autosport International Show, the Ginetta-Zytek GZ09S takes inspiration from Nigel Mansell's famous helmet colour scheme and is intended to demonstrate a Union Jack being draped over the car.

With the 1992 Formula 1 world champion at the wheel, Beechdean have targeted the Le Mans 24 Hours this season, but for the most part will be focusing on the Le Mans Series. For team principal Andrew Howard, the thinking behind the colour scheme is to be noticed.

"We are very excited about the new livery and the new logo, which gives the team a very distinct presence. We are a British team with a British racing legend at the wheel so it made perfect sense to use the Union flag on the car, which is also the colours carried by Mansell family since the 1980s.

"The car will certainly stand out at all of the LMS races, especially at the Le Mans 24-Hours, assuming we get an entry."
