Compared to the premier MotoGP class, it was all going on in Moto2 and Moto3 - so much so that at times you really didn't where to look, both on and off the track!

Despite a few 'blips', Marc Marquez soon stamped his authority on the Moto2 season and it was more a question of when rather than if he would be champion. It'll certainly be interesting to see how Marquez does in MotoGP alongside Dani Pedrosa in 2013.

Meanwhile, 2012 was the first year for the new Moto3 class, replacing the 125cc category. Consistent strength from Germany's Sandro Cortese saw him overcome the more erratic challenges of Luis Salom and Maverick Vinales - the latter having a bust-up with his Avintia team when things started to go wrong in the second half of the year.

That's just some of what happened in 2012 - but there was lots more going on, and we've tried to capture some of the less well known facts and figures summarising the season in 10 easy-to-digest questions that will prod and poke your memories. You may be able to impress us by demonstrating that you were paying full attention and know it all already, but if not there should be some fun trivia for you to pick up.

Best to try the quiz without recourse to looking up the answers using Google, Wikipedia or even Crash.net's own news archives section, it's much more fun to see what you can do armed with just your memories rather than a search engine! Then you get to boast about how much you knew afterwards by posting a comment to tell us how you did.
