2025 Czech MotoGP: Friday Practice As It Happened

Live coverage of the Practice session from the Czech MotoGP at Brno.

The 12th round of the 2025 MotoGP World Championship brings the series back to Brno for the Czech Grand Prix.

MotoGP hasn't been in the Czech Republic since 2020, and the track has been resurfaced for this year's event.

Brad Binder is the most recent winner in Brno, but Marc Marquez is the in-form rider heading into the weekend with eight wins from his last eight starts and an 83-point championship lead over Alex Marquez.

It was Marquez who topped FP1 this morning on a drying track, finishing 0.615 seconds ahead of Jack Miller and with a time within a hundredth of his own pole position record from 2019.

Marc Marquez fastest in Practice

Marc Marquez sweeps Friday in Brno, he's fastest in Practice.

Zarco second from Quartararo, Bezzecchi, and Martin in the top-five.

Miller, Mir, and Bastianini through to Q2, too, in sixth, seventh, and eighth.

A late lap from Alex Marquez got him into the top-10 in ninth, ahead of Pedro Acosta.

Bagnaia misses Q2 in 13th - another miserable wet weather session for the Italian after last week's qualifying debacle.

15:19

Bezzecchi up to fourth and seems safe now.

Martin the only rider in pit lane, but P5 and not many improvers coming behind.

15:17

Mir up to seventh with his latest lap. That's bumped Raul Fernandez out.

Alex Marquez back to the pits and back out on-track. He has time for a lap.

15:16

Marc Marquez back out for a final run with the medium compound rear tyre.

15:14

Miller the only notable improvement at the moment, he gets up to fifth.

Alex Marquez, currently 11th, has crashed at turn seven. He's on a scooter heading back to the pits but has only three minutes to get back out for a final lap.

15:11

10 minutes to go in the session now and the time to push for a one-lap attack is really now if you want to be in Q2 tomorrow.

Not a lot of improvements coming, though, even from Bagnaia who is down in 13th.

15:05

Into the final 15 minutes now and it's still Marquez fastest on a 2:03.935.

Dry lines starting to appear in some places.

15:00

Bezzecchi back out on track now and was up to third. Now down to fifth thanks to improvements from Martin and Quartararo.

14:58

Another improvement from Marquez.

Zarco was briefly fastest by 0.008s but the 2:03.935 of Marquez puts him back on top by 0.4s. Zarco the only one within a second of Marquez.

14:55

Zarco up to second and into the 2:04s.

14:54

After a stint in pit lane for most riders, everyone now back on track.

Martin up to second with his latest lap and within 0.6s of Marquez. Continuing to be impressive, the returning Spaniard.

14:43

Marc Marquez pushes the pace on now, down to a 2:04.412 and he's 0.8s clear of the field now.

14:39

Quartararo now to the top, 0.200s ahead of Mir.

14:37

Soon after Bezzecchi went down, Mir hit the top of the times on a 2:05.437.

14:37

Bezzecchi down for the second time today.

He's dropped it at turn four.

14:35

Pol Espargaro has stopped on track.

14:35

Bagnaia has run into the gravel on the outside of the penultimate corner and he's back in the pits.

MotoGP international TV feed reporting the rain has now stopped in pit lane.

14:34

Into the 2:05s now thanks to Bezzecchi, who displaces Quartararo from the top.

Bezzecchi tailing Miller, by the way, who is probably a handy gauge in these conditions.

14:32

Bezzecchi takes us into the 2:06s.

Technical problems for Alex Rins have forced him back to the pits.

14:31

Marquez up to second briefly with his latest lap but replaced by Quartararo there.

Now Martin to the top. Super-impressive from the reigning champion, down to a 2:07.081 now.
