Hanika, Silverstone top 2015 falls list

Karel Hanika fell more than any other motorcycle grand prix rider this season, while Silverstone saw more incidents than any other circuit.

Data from MotoGP.com shows that Moto3 competitor Hanika fell 24 times during the 18-round world championship - one more than Moto2's Axel Pons - including this fall (pictured) at the Valencia finale.

Of the four riders that won races in MotoGP this year, Marc Marquez fell most frequently with 13 accidents, followed by 3 each for eventual champion Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa, and just 2 for Valentino Rossi.

In terms of the circuits, Silverstone topped the list with 79 falls over the three days of track action - the wet race day no doubt a contributing factor. The French GP at Le Mans saw 78 falls and the Japanese GP at Motegi 71.

The least accidents (25) occurred at Argentina's Termas de R?o Hondo circuit, where racetrack designer Dromo used computer analysis of past accidents to help determine corner layout and geometry.

The most treacherous corner of the year was Turn 10 (Tramonto) at Misano, where 20 accidents occurred during the San Marino event.
