Brit to stand in for injured Rocket?

Ron Haslam's return to the GP scene could be short-lived following his crash at Le Mans two weeks ago, but his injuries could give another British rider the chance to shine.

Sabre Sport, the team which picked veteran Haslam to deputise for injured South African Shane Norval, has now turned its attention to British 250 Championship rider Callum Ramsay. The Scot is currently waiting for clearance form his usual team, but could make his grand prix debut in the 500 class at Mugello on Sunday.

Haslam's injuries also put paid to his chances of recording a rare double by appearing on the same race bill as teenage son Leon. Haslam Junior got a welcome fillip to his season by winning the Oulton Park round of the British 125 series on his works Italjet machine.
