Silva: I want to be in MotoGP next season.

With regular Pramac d'Antin MotoGP rider Alex Hofmann still replacing the injured Sete Gibernau at the Ducati Marlboro Team at this weekend's British Grand Prix, Ivan Silva will get another chance to demonstrate his ability to the MotoGP paddock.

"Alex Hofmann will still replace Sete Gibernau and we will still have Ivan Silva with us," confirmed team manager Luis d'Antin. "After a very positive debut at his first ever MotoGP race, I'm sure that he will be able to aim at a better result here in England, he's learning very quickly and we trust in his capacities."

The young Spaniard, who rides for d'Antin in the Spanish Formula Extreme championship, was a creditable 0.8secs behind team-mate Jose Luis Cardoso on day one at Assen, but reduced that gap to just 0.090secs during qualifying and then finished his first MotoGP race in 16th position.

"Donington is a new track for me, I've never ridden here," said Silva. "I need to learn as much as possible to demonstrate what I'm worth to everybody as I would like to be in MotoGP next season. In the meanwhile, I would like to thank Luis d'Ant?n, Pramac, the sponsors and the team for this great opportunity."
