Rossi falls in title showdown!

Valentino Rossi has fallen from seventh position on lap five of the Valencia title decider, dropping him to 20th and potentially handing the 2006 MotoGP world title to Nicky Hayden.

Hayden began the race eight-points down on pole sitter Rossi, but the reigning five-times world champion had a poor start and was left in seventh for the early laps, while fifth on the grid Hayden carved his way towards the front. The Italian then lost the front of his Camel Yamaha at the apex of the slow turn two and spun into the gravel.
