250: Luthi fall stops final practice.

Emmi-Caffe Latte's Thomas Luthi was taken away by ambulance after a heavy accident during final 250cc free practice at Indianapolis.

The former 125cc world champion had completed just one lap before a vicious highside from his Aprilia left him temporarily unconscious and caused the session to be red flagged.

The former 125cc world champion had completed just one lap before a vicious highside from his Aprilia left him temporarily unconscious and caused the session to be red flagged.

The latest news is that the Swiss rider suffered no serious head damage, but has injured his left hand.

After the restart, Hector Barbera went on to set the fastest lap time - just edging out world championship leader Marco Simoncelli, whom Barbera upset during a 'close' battle last time out at Misano.
