Izan Guevara won a photo finish with team-mate Sergio Garcia and Tatsuki Suzuki at the end of the Italian Moto3 Grand Prix at Mugello... But was then demoted one position for exceeding track limits on the final lap.
A seven-rider pack emerged to fight for victory in the closing stages after the likes of Dennis Foggia and Dennis Oncu had crashed out, a heartbroken Foggia while leading his home race and pole man Oncu after being bumped off by Suzuki.
Suzuki received a long lap penalty for the incident, dropping the Japanese to the second group, before clawing his way back to the lead pack and getting within less than one-tenth of victory.
Diego Moreira crashed from the podium battle at the final corner.
John McPhee was another faller, his bike then hit by Daniel Holgado, with rookie Scott Ogden falling after apparent bike problems saw the Englishman clipped by another rider at the start.
