Austin MotoGP - Free Practice (2) Results

Iannone snatches the fastest lap time on Friday at the Austin MotoGP, the Suzuki star toppling the dominant Marquez at the very end of FP2.

However Iannone, like most riders, was using the soft rear tyre while Marquez - who suffered a small lowside fall mid-session - stuck with the hard rear...

As expected, lap times dropped significantly in FP2, with Zarco the most high-profile rider outside the top ten. The Frenchman will need to hope tomorrow's rain forecast is wrong.

Austin MotoGP - Free Practice (2) Results

All riders set their best lap times of the day in FP2.

Track surface modifications have been made to try and reduce the COTA bumps, from turns 1-9 and 16-19, but many riders felt the bumps were as bad as ever - and the work has left a lot of dust on the track.
