Crash Media Group has a new junior motorsport journalist position available working in the two-wheel world for Crash.net and Visordown.com.

Crash Media Group, owners of brands Crash.net the largest digital motorsport brand in the UK and Visordown.com the largest digital brand in Motorcycling in the UK, is looking to recruit a full-time junior online journalist.

The role will cover a wide variety of responsibilities: breaking news, features, interviews, race reports and results all with speed and accuracy. You may also be required to attend events in the UK and abroad.

The major focus of the role will be working as part of the Crash.net editorial team covering the World Superbike championship, the British Superbike championship plus other two-wheeled motorsport including MotoGP, while the role will also provide a spectrum of opportunities and roles at Visordown.com.

Main responsibilities

  • Cover breaking news from the motorsport world on a wide variety of topics
  • Produce in-depth and engaging feature pieces for both current news and evergreen content
  • Create exciting social media strategies and campaigns across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and others
  • Conduct interviews with a variety of motorsport figures to produce written and video content
  • Work within different editorial teams covering a multitude of events
  • Covering breaking news from the motorcycle and road bike industry
  • Reviewing motorcycles, equipment and gear
  • Provide original and engaging content ideas in editorial meetings as well as being a proactive journalist
  • Efficient in a multimedia role working across video, online and graphics
  • Be able to travel to motorsport events when required

Ideal Candidate Requirements

  • Experience in journalism or appropriate PR work
  • The ability to generate wide-ranging content to a high quality with speed and accuracy
  • An excellent understanding and application on social media
  • A valid motorcycle license
  • An interest in a wide range of motorsport and the motorcycle industry

Preferred:

  • Degree in journalism, media or equivalent
  • Experience with email marketing campaigns and mailchimp
