Tamada takes third win at Sugo.

Wildcard entry Makoto Tamada took the win in the second race at Sugo making his hit strike three victories from four appearances at the circuit.

The Japanese rider took the lead from Brit Neil Hodgson around the half-way mark and then disappeared into the distance. Fellow Honda rider, and winner in the first race, Colin Edwards was second across the line.

The Japanese rider took the lead from Brit Neil Hodgson around the half-way mark and then disappeared into the distance. Fellow Honda rider, and winner in the first race, Colin Edwards was second across the line.

From the start of the race Neil Hodgson on the HM Plant Ducati pushed himself to the front. Hodgson and pole sitter Noriyuki Haga fought hard for the lead, by lap four the top six lined up Haga, Hodgson, Edwards, Tamada, Bostrom and Bayliss.

Hodgson then managed to make a move on Haga and keep the Aprilia rider behind. He even raised his hand to thank Haga, who on soft rubber again, started to fall back and fell prey first to Colin Edwards and then to Tamada.

Troy Bayliss seemed a lot happier in the second race and eventually crossed the line in fourth place, just behind Neil Hodgson who took his first podium position of the year. Haga came home in 5th ahead of Bayliss' team-mate Xaus. Rouunding off the top eight finishers were Brits James Toseland and Chris Walker
