GSE Racing confirms plans for 2003.

GSE Racing and Ducati Corse have reached an agreement over the terms of their partnership for 2003.

The competitive nature of the motorcycle market has resulted in Ducati Corse deciding that it will be necessary to retain full control of its Superbike World Championship programme, which provides a high profile showcase for its superbike product. As a result a two-rider factory team will compete in next year's championship under the sole charge of Ducati Corse. Neil Hodgson has been confirmed as one of the two factory riders for 2003.

GSE Racing will be recognised as the only official Ducati Corse satellite team for 2003 (with an option for 2004) and will be provided with the all-conquering Ducati 998 F02 race bikes.

"Circumstances have changed since GSE Racing first formulated an outline agreement with Ducati Corse two years ago," said GSE Racing Team Principal Darrell Healey. "Market forces have dictated that Ducati Corse continues to operate the World Superbike factory programme as it is such an essential part of its business activities.

"I'm delighted that GSE Racing has been rewarded with a substantially improved package for our endeavours over the past two years. We now see ourselves as an extension of the factory and are very much looking forward to progressing our partnership with Ducati Corse into 2003 and beyond."

Ducati Corse Superbike Programme Director, Paolo Ciabatti commented: "We are extremely pleased to reach this agreement with GSE Racing. It is great news for the Superbike World Championship, as we know that the commitment and professionalism of GSE Racing is on a par with any team in the paddock. One of the primary aims of Ducati Corse is help nurture talent within a strong team structure. The success of Troy Bayliss (1999 British Superbike Champion with GSE Racing) and Neil Hodgson plainly illustrates the fact that GSE Racing has already shown itself to be extremely adept at this. Ducati Corse is proud to have GSE Racing represent our legendary brand in World Superbike with an increased level of support for 2003."
