Foret back in front.

Fabien Foret put the disappointment from Lausitzring behind him to go straight to provisional pole in Friday's timed qualifying. His Ten Kate Honda team mate Iain MacPherson joined him on the provisional front row.

Foret snatched the provisional pole from Fujiwara, who had inherited Foret's win at Lausitzring, in the last seconds of qualifying. "I made a small mistake on my fast lap and almost highsided," said Foret. "The track and the conditions are quite difficult but the WP Suspension technicians have worked hard and given me a good set up to deal with both the circuit and the heat."

Iain MacPherson was fourth fastest in the session and is confident that he can improve on his time. "It's easy to say it, and harder to do, but I think there's maybe as much as a second out there that I can shave off my lap time," said Iain, dripping with sweat after lapping in the intense heat. "As usual Pirelli have come up with a tyre to cope with the conditions and we'll make a few adjustments before Saturday's session in the hope of finding that little extra bit of pace."

For Team Manager Ronald ten Kate the sight of both his riders on the provisional front row was very satisfying after the events at Lausitzring. "It's justice for all!" he exclaimed. "It's always good to have two riders doing well but this time it's especially important for us. The entire team, and especially Fabien, need this after the blow we received at Lausitzring." Foret won the race there but was subsequently disqualified for a minor technical infringement. Foret's bike had a non-homologated rear axle fitted in error, a part that few people in racing would say contributed to his win.

Ronald ten Kate was pleased to see Iain where he should be, on the provisional front row. "We worked hard here in testing after Monza and Iain's performance here then was also good. I think provisional fourth on the grid is a result that reflects his true ability.

"The steps we made today," continued Ronald, "have given us a lot of confidence that we can find a really good race set up. We are all 100% motivated and determined to bounce back from Lausitzring with another race win."

Foret's time of 1m 37.669s was the fastest ever lap of the Misano circuit in the Supersport class.
