Chris Walker today announced that he will ride for the PSG-1 Kawasaki team in next season's Superbike World championship.

Chris Walker today announced that he will ride for the PSG-1 Kawasaki team in next season's Superbike World championship.

The 32-year-old from Nottingham, England, was the first rider to secure a podium finish for Foggy Petronas Racing in this season's first race at Valencia, Spain.

But, after much deliberation, Chris has decided to renew his long-standing acquaintance with Kawasaki for 2005.

"It has been a really hard decision as I have really enjoyed my time with Petronas and the team, and Foggy has been a star," commented Walker. "But the timing is right for me to get back on a four-cylinder."

Walker's departure from the FPR team follows that of Troy Corser, who has been rumoured to be taking a ride with the Alstare Suzuki's World Superbike effort next season.

This has left two positions in the Petronas garage, with no likely candidates to take up the rides next season.

PSG-1's rider from this season, Pierfrancesco Chili, may not be riding for Walker's new team next year following reports that he may take a possible Honda ride in WSBK. However there are no details of which team at the present time.
