Bayliss knocked about in pushbike spill.

Bayliss is hugely keen on cycling and is well known for doing many miles on his pushbike to train and keep fit in and around Monte Carlo where he lives.

The double World Champion was cycling in the town doing his regular training routine. He and his personal trainer were on a downhill stretch of road at the time when Bayliss was thrown from his bike after hitting a manhole.

The double World Champion was cycling in the town doing his regular training routine. He and his personal trainer were on a downhill stretch of road at the time when Bayliss was thrown from his bike after hitting a manhole.

He slid down the road and was fortunate to avoid being hit by passers-by in their cars.

Luckily the injuries sustained by Bayliss are relatively minor and will not prevent him for racing at Assen; cuts and bruises and a sore back; but the Aussie, in his last year of motorcycle racing, was forced to delay his flight to the Netherlands.

He will also have a check-up at the travelling mobile clinic before the weekend's on-track action begins.
