Tom Tunstall is expecting consistent top-six finishes after signing to ride a Vitrans Honda in the 2004 British Supersport championship.

Tunstall, who took a best finish of sixth last season with an Earnshaws liveried Yamaha, will join Australians' Paul Young and Craig Coxhell on the Pirelli backed Ten Kate tuned machines. "I'm very happy to be racing with Vitrans. Robbie (Burns, team owner) is a true racing enthusiast, the team is professional and has won races in Supersport," said Turnstall.

"We have already tested the Ten Kate bikes in Spain and I'm very pleased. With a balanced chassis, a strong - rideable - engine, plus grip and stability from the Pirellis means we've got a very good all round package.

"I am under no illusion about the strength of the championship this year, but with Vitrans and Ten Kate I know we can have a very successful year. I can't wait!" he added.

The opening round of the 2004 British Superbike and Supersport season will take place at Silverstone on March 28.
