Since the last British Superbike meeting at Cadwell Park, Virgin Yamaha team boss Rob McElnea, along with double British Superbike Champion John Reynolds and the BRTA (British Racing Teams Association) have all been instrumental in improving various safety aspects of the circuit.

A new chicane has been put in between Mansfield and the bottom of the Mountain, resulting in a straight line entry into the Mountain section of the track; previously a blind left-hander. The run off areas at Hall Bend and the Hairpin have also been greatly increased.

"Since last year we have been working closely with the circuit owners Motorsport Vision, to improve on various safety aspects of Cadwell Park, to ensure safer racing and the future of bike sport at this unique venue," commented Rob McElnea. "With the various changes we feel that we have not only improved greatly on the safety element but have also retained the character of this fantastic circuit and guaranteed the superb race action witnessed every August Bank Holiday."
