Bennetts has confirmed it has ended its title sponsorship for the British Superbike Championship.

The motorcycle insurance company, one of the biggest of its kind in the UK, has leant its support to the series for the last four years, but have decided not to renew their contract with MotorSport Vision ahead of the 2009 season.

Claiming that they are working on 'new exciting projects', Bennetts director Paul Galligan is satisfied to have brought their agreement to an end after four successful years together

"Bennetts has a reputation for leading the bike insurance market. Following four successful years as title sponsors we have decided to focus on other new exciting projects, which we'll be announcing due course. We have really enjoyed our time as title sponsors and our involvement with the teams and riders.

"I wish MSVR and everyone involved with British Superbikes all the best and hope that the Championship continues to be successful."

It so far isn't clear who will take up the mantle of title sponsor for the series for 2009.
