Currie will attempt to ‘drown out the pain’ on BSB return
Ben Currie says he is confident he will be fit enough to line up on the Bennetts British Superbike Championship grid as planned at Knockhill this weekend after recovering from a broken foot and damaged knee ligaments.
The Quattro Plant JG Speedfit Kawasaki rider has been missing from action since an accident at Oulton Park ruled him out of the following three rounds, the Australian replaced in the latter two by ex-MotoGP rider Hector Barbera.

Though Currie admits he is not 100 per cent that he will definitely be riding the Kawasaki ZX-10R until he gets out on a bike during the test at Donington Park, he is optimistic he will join Glenn Irwin in Scotland as planned.
“It’s been a lot of hard work and a lot of effort has gone in to get to this point but it’s exciting to get back on a motorbike. My foot has almost fully recovered so medically I’m good to go; I’ve just got to drown out the pain!
“I’m going to have a run out for half an hour or so on Wednesday at Donington Park just to make sure my footwork is OK and the pain is manageable. It was 50/50 as to whether I’d make it back for this round so I’ll just have to see how it goes but I’m feeling confident.
“At this stage in the season there’s still plenty of racing to come and I’m keen to get back to doing what I love.”
