Rob Collard has been admitted to hospital following his accident in the final HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship race of the weekend at Snetterton.

The Airwaves BMW driver was leading the race when he was involved in an incident with the Chevrolet of James Nash, which resulted in him being tipped into a spin exiting the Esses.

Collard's car went spinning into the infield but then came to a stop on the racing line at the Bombhole, where it was hit at speed by the unsighted Stephen Jelley.

Collard was able to removed himself from the car but was visibly in some discomfort and has been taken to the Norwich and Norfolk general district hospital for further scans having complained on pains in his lower ribs and abdomen.
