Race reactions - Nurburgring.

Laurent Aiello [Hasser?der Abt-Audi]:

"It is quite a while ago already that we last scored such a result. It feels a little bit like the first victory of my career. It probably looked easily from the outside, but it wasn't. My car was very consistent and moreover, my pit crew has been working perfectly. We had a perfect strategy. I am overjoyed. I have had the chance of scoring good results for a few races already, but then, many things went wrong. Today, everything was perfect."

Christijan Albers [ExpressService AMG-Mercedes]:

"I'm satisfied with second place, but not with my performance. With this car and with our team a better result was possible. Our team pushed me throughout the weekend and I learned a lot."

Bernd Schneider [Vodafone AMG-Mercedes]:

"After starting sixth on the grid, this was the best possible result. I had a good battle with Christijan, but once he had passed me I couldn't fight back because of my tyres. Laurent Aiello's win is well deserved, I think that he still had some reserves. We have to keep an eye on the Audis from now on. When they are in front with three cars, the championship situation can still change."

Mattias Ekstr?m [PlayStation 2 Red Bull Abt-Audi]:

"My car was perfect all weekend, I felt well in every session. Unfortunately, I couldn't quite keep the pace of the front-runners after the first pit stop and I lost some positions. Admittedly, after the second stop, I recovered quite well and I was even close to Bernd Schneider. But I would have needed some more laps to start an attack. That's what it is like in the DTM: when you are lacking only one percent, you are already fourth."

Marcel F?ssler [AMG-Mercedes]:

"My start wasn't bad, however, I was not able to push today. At least I scored four points. I suffered from a light flu this weekend, but this is no excuse."

Jean Alesi [AMG-Mercedes]:

"I was not happy with my car's set-up today. I did my best and got the maximum out of the car."

Timo Scheider [OPC Team Phoenix]:

"To finish seventh having started 14th, I had to fight hard. From that point of view, I am satisfied with my points scoring position."

Gary Paffett [Service 24h AMG-Mercedes]:

"It was a great race and I had lot of support from our team."

Karl Wendlinger [PlayStation 2 Red Bull Abt-Audi]:

"I am annoyed indeed for just having missed the points again. In practice, I was much closer to the front and had it not been for a technical problem in qualifying, I would have been in Super Pole. But that is now over and done with: in three weeks time, it is my home round at the A1-Ring, I am already looking forward to that."

Peter Terting [S line Audi Junior Team]:

"On the second lap, somebody ran into the left rear part of my car. In the process, something on the suspension was bent. After the first tyre change, my Abt-Audi was a little bit better again. I could keep the pace and also overtake a few opponents. Then, something on the left rear broke, and unfortunately, that was it."

Christian Abt [Hasser?der Abt-Audi]:

"I had such a great start and I could already overtake two or three cars on the straight already. On the first corner, I probably wanted a little bit too much and I accelerated too early. I made up to the midfield again, but then the gearbox failed. But our first victory is the most important thing for me today. Nice, that the hard work of the past few months has paid off."

Martin Tomczyk [S line Audi Junior Team]:

"I could keep the pace of the front runners quite well. Then something broke on the gearbox after the first pit stop. When shifting down, I first missed one gear and then more and more, and finally, I had to retire. Too bad."

Hans-J?rgen Abt - Team principal Abt-Audi:

"This is a great burden coming off our shoulders. The team never gave up and really fought for it, so that this could be achieved. The pit stops were probably the best we have ever done. Perfect. We are aware of our responsibilities, our fans want victories. Today, we have scored one."

Norbert Haug - Vice President Mercedes-Benz Motorsport:

"An exciting race and a great DTM weekend. Christijan and Bernd performed excellently and were always fair. The HWA team finished with all four cars among the top-six. Gary Paffett, too, did a good job scoring one point with a last year's model. Congratulations to the Abt-Audi team and Laurent Aiello who is back among the championship contenders after today's victory. The event was certainly great fun for the crowd of 85,000 at the circuit this weekend and for the TV spectators as well."

Volker Strycek - Opel's motorsport director:

"It was a mega event, both because of the spectators and because of the TV-shots from night qualifying. One could wish that this will be extended even more. We at Opel are feeling convinced that our home is in the DTM and that we have helped creating this DTM."
