FIA confirm Max Verstappen-Lewis Hamilton call at F1 Hungarian GP LIVE UPDATES!

"The Stewards heard from the driver of Car 1 (Max Verstappen), team representatives and video and in-car video evidence. The driver of Car 44 (Lewis Hamilton) waived his right to attend the hearing.

"The driver of Car 1 stated during the hearing that he had gained some momentum on Car 44 out of Turn 3 with fresher tyres and used this momentum to make a move on the inside into Turn 4. 

"He further elaborated that he was in full control of his car and could have stayed further to the inside to leave space for Car 44 on the exit. 

"However he said, as Car 44 had gone off track, he elected to use all of the track on the exit.

"The team representative of Car 44 confirmed that there was no contact between both cars and further stated that the driver of Car 44 chose not to attempt to remain on track.

"Taking all this into account, the Stewards determine that there was no contact and that the incident does not qualify as forcing another car off track despite the ambitious nature of the overtaking attempt and take no further action."

The two of them were sensible as you’d expect. Lewis had the capacity that you’d expect from a seven-time world champion to not crash into [him].

Max arguably forced him off the circuit.

Lewis is looking towards the apex. He can see somewhere in his mirror, unbelievably at those speeds, where Verstappen is.

The rule says: The car overtaking on the inside, their front axle must be in line with the [other car’s] mirror.

I think, as the rule goes, at the apex, he hasn’t got his front axle alongside.

Before the apex you can see: the front axle is nowhere near the mirrors.

There was no contact. Lewis acted accordingly. He somehow managed to survive.

Many drivers would have turned on the normal racing line and there would have been contact, there would have been a high-speed spin. That’s something to consider, well done to Lewis for avoiding that one.

It’s not the race he wanted, it’s not the race Verstappen wanted.

Jamie Chadwick mentioned on Sky Sports that she thought Verstappen was over the limit in the incident with Hamilton.

2025 F1 Hungarian GP - Race Results: Lando Norris beats Oscar Piastri

Norris, Piastri, Russell, Leclerc, Alonso, Bortoleto, Stroll, Lawson, Verstappen and Antonelli.

Five-second time penalty for his defending against Russell into Turn 1. 

Piastri gets close again but nearly collects his teammate into Turn 1 by locking up. Norris looks to have this in the bag if he has a clean exit out of the final corner. 

Piastri has a look at Norris into Turn 1. He's not close enough to make a move. 

Norris no longer has traffic so he can try to pull away. 0.6s between the top two on Lap 67.

Norris leads ahead of Piastri, Russell, Leclerc, Alonso, Bortoleto, Stroll, Lawson, Verstappen and Antonelli.

0.6s between Norris and Piastri now.

1.2s between Norris and Piastri now.

Russell overtakes Leclerc into Turn 1 with an aggressive move. He's onto the podium. 

Russell has a look at Leclerc into Turn 1, but the Ferrari driver covers it off. 

Piastri is 2.8s behind Norris in the battle for the win now.
