Ricardo Rosset could finally be on his way out of the Tyrrell team, despite finishing an encouraging eighth in the incident filled Canadian GP.

Ricardo Rosset could finally be on his way out of the Tyrrell team, despite finishing an encouraging eighth in the incident filled Canadian GP.


The Brazilian - hired by new team owner Craig Pollock in preference to Jos Verstappen because of his better sponsorship connections - has been living on borrowed time since failing to qualify for either the Spanish or Monegasque races. However, Pollock stood by his man - and his decision to hire him - until after the Canadian GP last weekend, when he realised that the prize money the team would lose by finishing last in the constructors' standings would be greater than the amount to be repaid to Rosset in return for losing his drive.


Insiders say that Danish touring car driver, and sometime single-seater star, Tom Kristensen will replace Rosset from France onwards, and will have his first test with the team at Monza this week. Both Kristensen and Rosset have denied knowledge of the stories.
