Stewart Wins Anderson Tug-of-love
Stewart Grand Prix have won their first battle of the 1999 season, securing the services of former Jordan designer Gary Anderson from under the noses of Tom Walkinshaw and Arrows.
The Irishman had been the subject of proposed legal action between the two teams, but the situation has apparently been settled amicably. Although no details have yet been released as to the settlement, it is reported that Anderson will be free to start work with the Milton Keynes outfit as early as next week, and will travel with Stewart to Japan this weekend.

Although no details have yet been released as to the settlement, it is reported that Anderson will be free to start work with the Milton Keynes outfit as early as next week, and will travel with Stewart to Japan this weekend.
Anderson will become Stewart's chief designer under technical director Alan Jenkins, but will have little input into the initial design of the team's new chassis, the SF-3, as Stewart hope to unveil the car around the end of the year.
Anderson is rumoured to have turned his back on Arrows following his discovery that no new car was planned for 1999, and that the team may be forced to operate on a reduced budget next season.
